Uncle Tom’s List

Today I'm feeling a bit down.  Not on the outside of course, but there's just a damper on my heart that's bringing me down.  It's just that there was an accident this weekend, which killed a friend of my stepdaughters.  She was in high school.  While we weren't close to her family, as a mom, you just can't help but to feel sad.  For her family.  For the situation.  For the loss of potential.  For the loss of a vibrant life.  And I sit here wishing I could help but not knowing how.  There just aren't words. This all just…

This year, my word is "faith." At the end of the month, our family will be experiencing some changes, as my husband has felt…

I've always been one to make resolutions, so it comes without saying that I would make some this year; however, I do hate calling them resolutions.  Even though a resolution is just a "resolve" to do something, there is a common problem with New Year's Resolutions, and that's that most of them are not kept.  If I call them goals and treat them as such, I feel I will have a much better…

Reviewing a Year of Goals (2014)

Last year, I decided I wanted to be intentional. As I said yesterday, I feel I did a fairly decent job of being intentional, and the GoalTracker app on my phone was a huge help keeping me on track. Unfortunately, I didn't accomplish everything quite to my maximum potential as I had hoped. I used to think that only partially meeting my goals meant that I had failed. This year though, I've realized that even only partially meeting my goals still means progress. Here's how: For My Family: Spend 2 hours per month with each child Okay, well this didn't…
