Chaos.

Chaos | Making the Most Blog

This is our second week without a full-time income.

And I’m a planner. I like everything layed out in nice, neat lines.

I’m going to come right out and say that I don’t know how we’re going to pay the bills. Prince Charming is starting a business, and it’s a slow start, though he did get some side work the other day. The income we thought we’d have this month…well it hasn’t come through and now we don’t know when it will. My Etsy shop has been slow, and my hours were cut in half at work. Earning money with advertising space on the blog moves forward at a snail’s pace. If that.

To top it off, softball sign ups are here. And the kids want to go to camp. And Christian music festivals. I have a book to publish and am dying to go to Proverbs 31 Ministries’ She Speaks conference. And yearbooks. And fundraisers. (Need I say more about fundraisers?) I feel like I need to do it all. Or at least I want to…

I do have a party in the works to earn money through Usborne Books and More. And I just am getting back into selling 31 again. But I worry that it won’t be enough. If I find that I’m really struggling, I may take my friend up on her offer of looking into dogecoin mining as well as learning more about how this process could potentially help us to receive a steady source of passive income, but I’ll see how beneficial my other ideas will be before I do that. I was hoping I would be able to earn some income through speaking, but I’m hitting some roadblocks already and my first engagement wasn’t really meant to produce income.

This is not a nice, neat line. This is chaos. I don’t do chaos.

Thankfully God knows how to handle chaos.

I don’t know how many times I’ve questioned this path we’re on because it’s not neatly laid out. Every time though, I go back to the peace that God offers when I carry out His will. Not to mention, He never said it would be easy.

Over and over again I go back to these verses:

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Matthew 7:7-8

“The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” – Exodus 14:14

“This is My command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” – Psalms 46:1

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” – Romans 8:28

These verses continually give me hope that God will provide for us and will take care of us. I hope they give you some encouragement today.

What are you struggling with today?
