2016 Blizzard Recap

It's funny when people talk about being "snowed in" like we're all going to stay stuck inside for a week.  It may snow a lot, but you're still required to shovel your sidewalks within a certain amount of hours, so there's not really any such thing as being "snowed in," if you ask me.  If you missed me on social media this weekend, here's the photo story of the events of the weekend:                                Believe it or not--it was not a record snowfall, but it was getting pretty…

{FREE!} Printable Snow Day Bucket List (2016)

Well, we just couldn't stay in the clear of snow this winter.  I guess since we had such nice weather so far this season we were bound to get a good one, and we sure are getting a doozy of a snowstorm.  And of course we just happen to be lucky enough to land in what is expected to be the 20+ inches of snow zone.  I say that with sarcasm, because I haven't liked snow since the blizzard of 1996 when we got about 3 feet of snow. Well regardless of my love (or lack thereof) of snow, I…

It’s Still Winter: A Bucket List and Some Other Things…

It's raining today. And icy. And gloomy. I am naturally a pessimist, but I don't like gloom.  I don't like dark and dreary and things dragging me down and negativity.  I think that's because I know that, the more I'm around it, the more it brings me down.  And the longer I'm down the worse I get.  So needless to say, since I can't control the weather, I'm feeling somewhat gloomy.  Like an Eeyore. No offense to Eeyore, but I'd rather not be him.  I'd rather be like Pooh.  Or even Olaf-like.  (Can you tell we watch a lot of…

Cabin Fever – A Bucket List

Well, it's started... The big snow has begun, and we're waiting for anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow.  School is cancelled already for tomorrow, and we are anticipating yet another snow day--trapped inside, away from the bitter cold.  I've lost track of the number of snow days we've had already--enough to take away almost all of the school's remaining days off and bordering adding time to the school day or going until the end of June.  I anxiously await the picking at each other and the inevitable..."I'M BORED!" So in anticipation of yet another snow day, I put…
